Park Authority has closed Riverbend Park due to flooding. Will alert everyone when this is rescheduled.
WHERE: Riverbend Park, 8700 Potomac Hills Street, Great Falls, VA 22066
DETAILS: In a shady park along the Potomac River, rally to protect our natural resources, public safety, and property rights threatened by four pipeline projects proposed in Virginia, including one project located in Northern Virginia. Rally to protect drinking water and water quality threatened by coal ash ponds located along tributaries to the Potomac River, banks of the Elizabeth and James Rivers. The program will include holding hands to create a human chain symbolizing our communal efforts to protect the land of our Virginia communities. It will also show solidarity with other front-line communities across our great nation facing injustices caused by fossil fuel projects such as natural gas fracking wells, waste water injection wells, pipelines, compressor stations, liquid natural gas export facilities, mountain top removal, crude oil transport by rail, offshore drilling in the Gulf of Mexico.
